**TIRUNELVELI, January 26, 2025** – The Koodankulam Nuclear Power Plant (KKNPP) celebrated Republic Day with a flag-hoisting ceremony and an address by site director B. Satheesh Kumar. Kumar announced that KKNPP units 1 and 2 have generated 60,852 and 46,813 million units (MUs) of clean energy respectively since their first synchronization.
Construction on units 3 and 4 is progressing well, reaching 76% completion by December 2024, with major activities finished. Units 5 and 6 have achieved 33% physical progress, with civil works on major buildings underway.
Kumar highlighted the plant’s commitment to local development, stating that ₹124 crore has been allocated for infrastructure improvements, education, healthcare, and water supply initiatives under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program.
