Sun Jan 26 03:10:00 UTC 2025: ## Indonesian Military Contingent Steals the Show at India’s Republic Day Parade
**New Delhi, January 26, 2025** – The 76th Republic Day parade witnessed a historic and emotional moment as Indonesia’s military contingent made its debut, captivating the audience with a disciplined and impressive march. The 152-member contingent, representing all branches of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), including a 190-member ensemble band from the Indonesian Military Academy (Akmil), received a standing ovation from all ministers of the Modi government.
This marked the first time an Indonesian military contingent participated in India’s Republic Day celebrations. Their performance, embodying the Indonesian motto “Bhinneka Tunggal Ika” (Unity in Diversity), showcased impeccable discipline and unity, leaving the spectators mesmerized.
The participation highlighted the deep cultural and diplomatic ties between India and Indonesia. The presence of Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, who arrived with President Droupadi Murmu in a traditional buggy, further underscored the significance of the event. President Subianto is only the fourth Indonesian president to attend India’s Republic Day celebrations, following the first President Sukarno’s attendance at the inaugural event in 1950.
The event was hailed as a symbol of shared values and exchange between the two nations, strengthening diplomatic relations and conveying a message of diversity and global cooperation on the world stage. The Indonesian contingent’s performance is being widely lauded as one of the most memorable moments of this year’s parade.
