**SHIMOGA, January 26, 2025** – Karnataka celebrated Republic Day with the unveiling of plaques bearing the Preamble to the Indian Constitution in all district centers, including Shimoga. School Education Minister Madhu Bangarappa, also the Minister in charge of Shimoga district, presided over the unveiling ceremony at Allama Prabhu Park. He emphasized the Constitution’s role in uniting India’s diverse population and highlighted a state government initiative launched in September 2023 to familiarize students with the Preamble through daily morning recitations in schools. Mr. Bangarappa stated that early exposure to the Constitution’s significance fosters respect for its fundamental principles. The event was attended by local officials including the Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police.
