Sun Jan 26 18:03:08 UTC 2025: ## Puducherry Police Officers Honored at Republic Day Celebrations
**Puducherry, January 26, 2025** – Lieutenant Governor K. Kailashnathan presented awards to several Puducherry police officers on Sunday during Republic Day celebrations held on Beach Road. The awards recognized outstanding service and contributions to law enforcement.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Crime and Intelligence, Narra Chaitanya, received the Union Home Minister’s Police Award for his investigation into a large-scale interstate online job racket.
Additional awards included the President’s Police Medal for meritorious service, presented to Inspectors of Police Duggudurthy Suresh Babu, Angavalappil Pankajakshan, and Special Grade Sub-Inspector of Police Shanmugam Chandrasekaran. The Union Home Minister’s Police Medal for meritorious service was also awarded to Special Grade Head Constables Ramalingam Cannan and Somasundaram Nadamani. Sub Inspector J.T. Alexius Kalery and Special Grade Assistant Sub Inspector N. Prema received the Lt. Governor’s Police Medal for meritorious service.
The Kottucherry Police Station was also recognized, receiving the Best Police Station Award from the Ministry of Home Affairs. In addition to the police awards, the Lieutenant Governor distributed Chief Minister’s and Education Minister’s Rolling Trophies to 26 schools for excellence in final examinations.
