**Cuddalore, Villupuram, and Kallakurichi, Tamil Nadu (January 26, 2025):** The 76th Republic Day was celebrated with fervor across Cuddalore, Villupuram, and Kallakurichi districts on Sunday. The celebrations included the honoring of freedom fighters, recognition of government employees and police personnel, and the distribution of welfare assistance.
In Cuddalore, Collector Sibi Adhithya Sentil Kumar hoisted the national flag at Anna Stadium and reviewed a parade. 201 government employees received awards for meritorious service, and welfare assistance totaling ₹1.06 crore was distributed to 100 beneficiaries.
Villupuram’s celebrations saw Collector C. Palani unfurling the national flag at the Armed Reserve grounds. Welfare assistance of ₹8.82 lakh was distributed to 29 beneficiaries, and 309 high-performing employees received certificates of appreciation.
Kallakurichi’s Republic Day events took place at the Government Boys Higher Secondary School, where Collector M.S. Prasanth hoisted the flag and presented appreciation certificates to 377 government officials. Additionally, 28 police personnel received the Chief Minister’s Police Medal. Cultural programs by local school students added to the festivities. The celebrations in all three districts were marked by patriotic enthusiasm.
