Sat Jan 25 19:35:37 UTC 2025: ## 7.5% Reservation Scheme Benefits Over 40,000 Students in Karnataka
**Chennai, January 26, 2025** – The Karnataka government’s 7.5% reservation scheme for government school students in professional courses has benefited over 40,000 students in the past four academic years, Higher Education Minister Govi. Chezhiaan announced today.
Implemented following a Government Order passed in November 2021, the scheme has disbursed ₹1,165 crore. This funding has supported 35,530 students in vocational courses, 2,382 in medical courses, 1,369 in agriculture, 261 in veterinary science, and 626 in law. In total, 40,168 students have benefitted from the initiative.
