Sun Jan 26 07:20:00 UTC 2025: ## Restaurant Association to Accuse Zomato and Swiggy of Anti-Competitive Practices
**NEW DELHI** – The National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI), representing 500,000 restaurants, announced it will file a complaint with the Competition Commission of India (CCI) against food delivery giants Zomato and Swiggy. The complaint alleges anti-competitive practices, including the use of private labels (Bistro by Blinkit and Snacc, respectively) and deep discounting.
NRAI President Sagar Daryani expressed concerns about data masking and the unfair advantage these private label initiatives give Zomato and Swiggy over independent restaurants. The NRAI will expand its existing CCI petition to include these new allegations. Daryani stated that these actions by the food aggregators create an uneven playing field for the restaurants they claim to support. The CCI is expected to investigate these claims of anti-competitive behaviour.
