Sat Jan 25 22:50:00 IST 2025: **Illegal Structures Demolished in Hanumakonda**
WARANGAL, TELANGANA: Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation officials on Friday demolished illegal structures belonging to Manda Krishna Madiga, the founder president of MRPS, located in Survey Number 125K, Hunter Road, Hanumakonda.
The demolition followed a two-and-a-half-year-long legal battle. In 2021, Namburu Charumathi filed a complaint alleging that Madiga, along with Jyoti and Iddayya, had encroached upon 400 square yards of land and constructed buildings illegally. After an investigation, officials ordered the demolition in September 2022.
When the demolition was delayed, Charumathi approached the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), which directed the authorities to raze the structures by January 24, 2024. Even after Madiga challenged the NHRC order in the High Court, the court did not grant relief, leading to Friday’s demolition.
