Kamakoti, The Hindu director and Music Academy president N. Murali, and Saveetha University Chancellor N.M. Veeraiyan were honored for their contributions. Madras High Court Judge V. Lakshminarayanan presented the awards, praising the Rotary’s selection.

Kamakoti announced the establishment of a new Rotary-IIT Madras Centre focused on seven sustainable development goals. He encouraged Rotarians to partner with IIT-Madras to create online learning centers. Murali highlighted Rotary’s long history of community service, emphasizing its commitment to inclusivity and excellence, particularly referencing his work with The Hindu and The Music Academy. Veeraiyan showcased Saveetha University’s hospital’s dedication to providing free healthcare, even during the pandemic.

Rotary District Governor Mahaveer Bothra urged members to further their service, mentioning his goal of providing smart boards to 1,000 government-aided schools. Eighty-three clubs within the district also received awards.
