**New Delhi, India** – India celebrated its 76th Republic Day with a vibrant and impressive display of military prowess and cultural heritage on Sunday. Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto was the Chief Guest at the grand parade held along Kartavya Path.

The celebrations began with President Droupadi Murmu unfurling the national flag, followed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s tribute at the National War Memorial. The parade showcased a powerful display of India’s military capabilities, featuring elite marching contingents, indigenous weapon systems like the Sarath (ICV BMP-II) and BM-21 Agnibaan rocket launcher, and a breathtaking flypast of 40 IAF aircraft and helicopters, including Rafale and Su-30 fighter jets. Captain Dimple Singh Bhati made history as the first woman Army officer to present a salute to the President from a moving motorcycle.

The parade also highlighted India’s rich cultural tapestry with tableaux from 16 states and Union Territories. Highlights included Andhra Pradesh’s eco-friendly Etikoppaka Bommalu wooden toy tableau, Madhya Pradesh’s celebration of the Kuno National Park cheetahs, and Uttar Pradesh’s depiction of the Maha Kumbh Mela. Other states showcased their unique cultural heritage and traditions.

The Indonesian Armed Forces band performed, reflecting the strong ties between the two nations. The event concluded with a spectacular display of fireworks and the release of balloons. The Republic Day celebrations culminated in an ‘At Home’ ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan, attended by President Murmu, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar, Prime Minister Modi, and President Subianto.
