Sat Jan 25 23:40:00 UTC 2025: ## India Beats England in Thrilling Second T20 Match

**Chennai, India:** Team India continued its dominant T20 form, defeating England by 2 wickets in a nail-biting second T20I match in Chennai on Saturday. This victory gives India a 2-0 lead in the five-match series.

While the first T20 was a comfortable win for India, the second match proved to be a much closer contest. England posted a challenging 165/9, with captain Jos Buttler top-scoring on 45. India’s bowlers, Axar Patel (2/32) and Varun Chakravarthy (2/38), were instrumental in keeping England’s total in check, despite a late surge from Brydon Carse (31).

Chasing 166, India’s top order struggled, losing wickets early. However, Tilak Varma’s spectacular unbeaten 72 off 55 balls (4 fours, 5 sixes) steered India to victory in 19.2 overs. His explosive innings, which included three sixes in one over, proved to be the difference-maker. Washington Sundar also provided crucial support with a 26-run knock.

Despite a strong start from England and some late fightback, India’s disciplined bowling and Tilak Varma’s exceptional batting prowess ultimately secured the win for the home side. The third T20I will be played in Rajkot on Tuesday.
