Sun Jan 26 18:11:00 UTC 2025: ## India Women’s U19 Team Cruises to Semifinals with Dominant Victory Over Bangladesh

**Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia –** India’s Under-19 women’s cricket team secured their place in the semifinals of the ICC Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2025 with an emphatic eight-wicket victory over Bangladesh on Sunday. Winning the toss and electing to bowl first, India restricted Bangladesh to a paltry 64/8 in their 20 overs.

A stellar bowling performance saw contributions from several Indian players. Shabnam Shakil struck early, removing Mosammat Eva in the first over. Vaishnavi Sharma led the wicket-taking charge with three scalps, while Joshitha V J and Gongadi Trisha also chipped in. Two run-outs further hampered Bangladesh’s batting efforts.

Chasing a modest target of 65 runs, India comfortably reached the total in 7.1 overs. Gongadi Trisha top-scored with a 40-run knock, before captain Niki Prasad hit the winning boundary. While opener G Kamalini was dismissed early, the Indian chase remained unchallenged.

This win keeps India unbeaten in the tournament and sets up a clash against Scotland on January 28th. A victory in that match would see India enter the semifinals with a perfect record.
