**Dubai, January 25, 2025** – Indian captain Rohit Sharma has been named captain of the ICC Men’s T20I Team of the Year 2024, a squad heavily dominated by Indian players. The announcement follows India’s triumphant second T20 World Cup victory last June.
Sharma’s leadership and impressive batting performance (378 runs in 11 matches at an average of 42.00 and a strike rate over 160) were key factors in his selection. His three half-centuries during the World Cup, including a 92 against Australia, highlighted his crucial contributions.
Joining Sharma in the star-studded team are fellow Indians Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, and Arshdeep Singh. Pandya, the top-ranked ICC Men’s T20I all-rounder, showcased his all-round brilliance with 352 runs and 16 wickets in 17 matches, notably defending 16 runs in the final over of the World Cup final.
