Sun Jan 26 17:10:00 UTC 2025: ## Boat Fire Erupts on Hussain Sagar Lake During Fireworks Display
**Hyderabad, India** – A fire broke out on Hussain Sagar Lake in Hyderabad on Sunday night, injuring three people. The incident occurred during a fireworks display following the “Bharat Mata Maha Harati” event organized by the Bharat Mata Foundation at People’s Plaza Grounds on Necklace Road.
The fireworks were being launched from two boats belonging to the Telangana Tourism Department. Sparks from the fireworks ignited the remaining pyrotechnics on board, resulting in a major fire that completely destroyed both boats. Seven people were on the boats at the time; three sustained injuries and were transported to a hospital for treatment, while four escaped unharmed.
Telangana Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan, Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy, and several other dignitaries attended the earlier event. Firefighters responded quickly to the scene and brought the blaze under control. An investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
