**New Delhi, January 26, 2025** – India celebrated its 76th Republic Day today with a spectacular parade down Kartavya Path, featuring a vibrant display of military might, cultural diversity, and technological advancements. Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto was the chief guest for the event.

President Droupadi Murmu hoisted the national flag, followed by a 21-gun salute. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar were also in attendance. The parade showcased the strength of the Indian Armed Forces, with marching contingents from various regiments, including the Brigade of the Guards, Sikh Li Regt Centre, Bihar Regt Centre, and Ladakh Scouts Regt Centre. A captivating display by the Daredevil motorcycle riders of the Indian Army’s Signals Corps further enthralled the audience.

This year’s parade highlighted India’s self-reliance with the display of indigenously developed weaponry, including the BrahMos missile, Pinaka multi-launcher rocket system, and the Akash weapon system. State-of-the-art armored vehicles like the Nandighosh and Tripurantak, also showcased India’s growing defense capabilities. The flypast by the Indian Air Force featured 40 aircraft, including fighter jets, transport planes, and helicopters.

The parade also showcased the rich cultural heritage of India, with dazzling tableaux from various states including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi, Karnataka, Tripura, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Jharkhand, Punjab, and Goa. These tableaux depicted the states’ unique cultural traditions, historical significance, and achievements. Tableaux from the Ministries of Social Justice and Empowerment and Tribal Affairs further highlighted societal progress. A 300-strong cultural performance, featuring a mix of traditional Indian musical instruments, opened the event.

Celebrations extended beyond Delhi, with state-level events held across the country, including flag-hoisting ceremonies attended by governors, chief ministers, and other dignitaries. Prime Minister Modi extended his Republic Day greetings via X, emphasizing the importance of upholding the Constitution’s values and working towards a stronger India. The event concluded with a message of unity, progress, and continued commitment to the nation’s democratic values.
