**New Delhi, January 26, 2025** – India celebrated its 76th Republic Day today with a vibrant nationwide celebration culminating in a spectacular parade along Kartavya Path. Google commemorated the occasion with a special doodle, designed by Pune-based artist Rohan Dahotre, showcasing a lively depiction of the Republic Day parade featuring animals representing India’s diverse regions and wildlife.

The annual Republic Day parade, a highly anticipated event, commenced with Prime Minister Narendra Modi laying a wreath at the National War Memorial. President Droupadi Murmu then arrived to receive the salute from the marching contingents. This year’s parade featured 31 tableaux from across India, focusing on the theme “Swarnim Bharat: Virasat aur Vikas” (Golden India: Heritage and Progress), with a special emphasis on the 75th anniversary of the Constitution’s enactment. Two tableaux specifically highlighted this milestone.

The parade included contingents from the Indian Armed Forces, Paramilitary Forces, and various other organizations, along with a significant international presence. Indonesia’s President Prabowo Subianto served as the Chief Guest, bringing a 160-member marching contingent and a 190-member band to participate in the event.

The celebrations concluded with a breathtaking flypast of 47 aircraft. The day’s events underscored India’s rich cultural heritage, military strength, and the spirit of “Jan Bhagidari” (public participation).
