**Siwan, Bihar:** A 10-year-old girl, Priya Kumar, died on Saturday after being pushed from the rooftop of her home in Maghar village, Siwan district, Bihar, by a monkey. The incident occurred around midday while Priya was studying in the sun.
Eyewitnesses reported that a group of monkeys harassed the girl, causing her to panic. While attempting to escape the monkeys’ aggression, she was forcefully pushed from the roof by one of the animals. Priya suffered severe head injuries and other trauma, resulting in her death upon arrival at Siwan Sadar Hospital.
Bhagwanpur police station’s Station House Officer (SHO), Sujeet Kumar Chaudhary, confirmed the incident, stating that the family declined an autopsy and did not file a complaint. Villagers expressed concerns about increasing monkey aggression in the area, citing previous disturbances. Priya was a Class 10 student preparing for her upcoming exams. Her death has prompted renewed anxieties about human-wildlife conflict in the region.
