**Hyderabad, January 26, 2025** – Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) working president T. Jagga Reddy has accused Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar of blackmailing the people of Telangana. Reddy alleges that Kumar threatened to withhold central funds for housing and rice schemes, claiming these are rights guaranteed to Telangana within a federal structure.
Speaking to reporters, Reddy stated he has never witnessed such a tone from a Union Minister, characterizing the threats as blackmailing and unbefitting of Kumar’s position. He questioned the stance of fellow Union Minister Kishan Reddy on the matter.
Reddy asserted that while political battles with the Congress government are acceptable, threatening the citizens of Telangana is unacceptable. He further accused both the BJP and BRS parties of attempting to defame the Congress government, suggesting that the actions of Harish Rao and K.T. Rama Rao stem from jealousy towards Revanth Reddy.
Highlighting the Congress party’s engagement with the public, Reddy pointed to the Ministers’ and MLAs’ participation in gram sabhas. He contrasted this with the BRS chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s alleged lack of public interaction and previous restrictions on public access to the Secretariat. Reddy concluded by stating that the Secretariat is now open to everyone.
