Sat Jan 25 17:48:26 UTC 2025: ## Telugu Actor Nandamuri Balakrishna Awarded Padma Bhushan

**Visakhapatnam, January 26, 2025** – Veteran Telugu actor and politician Nandamuri Balakrishna will be conferred the Padma Bhushan, India’s third-highest civilian award, announced the government on Saturday. Four other individuals from Andhra Pradesh (A.P.) will receive the Padma Shri.

Mr. Balakrishna, son of legendary actor N.T. Rama Rao, gained recent popularity for his TV show “Unstoppable.” He was congratulated by fellow Telugu actor Jr. NTR, Minister Nara Lokesh, and others.

The A.P. Padma Shri recipients are: K.L. Krishna and Vadiraj Raghavendracharya Panchamukhi (literature and education); Madugula Naga Phani Sarma (a renowned Telugu and Sanskrit scholar); and Miriyala Appa Rao (posthumously) for their contributions to art. Mr. Sarma’s accolades include several state, national, and international awards.
