**Valsad, Gujarat –** A 15-year-old boy has been arrested and charged with murder in Valsad district, Gujarat, for allegedly killing the four-month-old child of a woman he was romantically involved with. Police announced the arrest on Saturday, following an investigation launched after the woman, Muskan Asgarali, reported the child’s death as an accident.
Asgarali, a resident of Umargam, initially claimed her child died after falling from a bed on January 13th. However, her suspicions were raised after the boy, her boyfriend, left town the following day. Following her complaint on January 15th, the child’s body was exhumed, and a post-mortem revealed the infant suffered fatal head injuries.
The 15-year-old, apprehended in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, confessed to the murder. He reportedly stated that his family disapproved of his relationship with Asgarali, primarily due to her having a child from a previous marriage.
The accused has been charged under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita with murder, concealment of evidence, and other related offenses. He has been produced before a juvenile court. Police had earlier launched a search operation across several states, including Haryana, Delhi, Agra and Prayagraj, in their investigation.
