**New Delhi:** The Indian government announced the prestigious Padma Awards for 2024, with artists dominating the list of recipients. Several prominent figures from the world of cinema, music, and dance received the nation’s highest civilian honours.

The Padma Vibhushan, the second-highest award, was posthumously conferred upon renowned Bhojpuri singer Sharda Sinha and acclaimed Malayalam screenwriter-director Vasudevan Nair.

The Padma Bhushan, the third-highest award, was posthumously awarded to celebrated ghazal singer Pankaj Udhas. Other recipients of the Padma Bhushan include Tamil superstar Ajith Kumar, filmmaker Shekhar Kapur, Telugu actor Nandamuri Balakrishna, veteran actor Anant Nag, and Bharatnatyam dancer Shobhana.

The Padma Shri, the fourth-highest award, was bestowed upon veteran actor Ashok Saraf, theatre personality Barry John, singer Jaswinder Narula, and Grammy-winning composer Ricky Kej. Singer Arijit Singh was also among the Padma Shri recipients.
