Sun Jan 26 01:10:00 UTC 2025: ## Visakhapatnam Police Bust Honey Trap Gang, Arrest Five

**Visakhapatnam, January 25, 2025** – Visakhapatnam police have arrested five individuals, including a woman, in connection with a honey trap case. The victim, a welder from Srikakulam district, was lured into a trap and robbed of ₹58,900.

Police report that a group, including a 34-year-old married woman from Kancharapalem and four men from various locations in Visakhapatnam and Vijayanagaram, conspired to target the victim. The woman contacted the victim on January 18th, and after arranging a meeting, the gang ambushed him near Sangivalasa, assaulted him, and stole his cash, ATM cards, and transferred money from his mobile phone. Two other suspects remain at large.

Acting on a complaint filed on January 22nd, Bheemunipatnam police, under the supervision of Visakha North Crime CI BSN Prakash, investigated using call records and CCTV footage. Three motorcycles and some cash were recovered. Police stated that further details will be released by senior officials. This is the second honey trap case reported in Visakhapatnam in the last two months.

## Vigilance Department Investigates Free Hold Land Allotments in Pendurthi

**Pendurthi, January 25, 2025** – The Andhra Pradesh vigilance department is investigating allegations of irregularities in the allotment of free hold land rights during the previous YSRCP government. A deputy assistant commissioner from the department conducted inspections at the Pendurthi Tahsildar office on Friday, examining documents related to approximately 20 acres of land granted free hold rights to 18 individuals in several villages. Investigations are underway to determine if the allotments were legally obtained or if undue influence was used. The investigation was ordered by the state Vigilance and Enforcement OSD, Kinjarapu Prabhakar.
