Fri Jan 24 23:10:00 UTC 2025: ## Bangladesh on Brink of World Cup Qualification
**Basseterre, St. Kitts:** The final Women’s ODI between Bangladesh and the West Indies will decide the last automatic qualifying spot for the upcoming Women’s Cricket World Cup. A Bangladesh victory will secure their place, overtaking New Zealand in the International Women’s Championship standings. A win for the West Indies, or even a no-result, would send New Zealand through.
Bangladesh, boosted by a 60-run win in the second ODI thanks to a strong performance from captain Nigar Sultana Joty (68 runs) and a disciplined bowling attack, currently hold the advantage. The top five teams in the Championship, plus hosts India, automatically qualify for the World Cup. The remaining teams will compete in a qualifier tournament. Currently, Ireland, Pakistan, and the West Indies are already confirmed for the qualifier, along with Scotland and Thailand.
The decisive match takes place at Warner Park in Basseterre. All eyes will be on Bangladesh as they aim to secure their place in the World Cup for the first time on merit.
