Fri Jan 24 23:50:00 UTC 2025: ## Genesis Invitational Relocates to Torrey Pines Due to California Wildfires
**SAN DIEGO, CA –** The PGA Tour announced Friday that the 2025 Genesis Invitational, hosted by Tiger Woods, will be moving from its usual location at Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades to Torrey Pines Golf Course in San Diego. The tournament, scheduled for February 10-16, was relocated due to the recent devastating wildfires in the Los Angeles area.
Torrey Pines, which is already hosting this week’s Farmers Insurance Open, offers existing infrastructure that will expedite the transition. The PGA Tour plans for the Genesis Invitational to return to Riviera Country Club in 2026.
PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan stated that the move highlights the resilience of Los Angeles and the need for continued support for wildfire recovery efforts. The tournament, which benefits Woods’ TGR Foundation, will serve as a platform to raise awareness and aid those affected.
Tiger Woods expressed gratitude to the city of San Diego and Torrey Pines for stepping in to host the event. While acknowledging Riviera as the tournament’s home, he emphasized the importance of using the tournament to support wildfire victims. Woods’ participation in the tournament remains uncertain, given his recent back surgery and past health issues. He’s a past champion at Torrey Pines’ South Course, having won eight times there, notably the 2008 U.S. Open.
