Fri Jan 24 22:08:02 UTC 2025: ## Trump Administration Launches Massive Deportation Operation
**Washington, D.C. –** The Trump administration has initiated a large-scale deportation operation, deporting hundreds of undocumented immigrants via military aircraft in what’s being described as the largest such operation in US history. The White House announced the operation Friday, stating that President Trump is fulfilling his campaign promise to take strong action against illegal immigration.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt tweeted that the operation targets those who entered the US illegally, emphasizing that they will face “severe consequences.” She confirmed the arrest of 538 undocumented immigrants, including a suspected terrorist, four members of the Tren de Aragua gang, and several individuals convicted of sex crimes against minors.
The White House’s X post echoed this sentiment, stating that President Trump is sending a “strong message to the world” about the consequences of illegal entry.
Leavitt further detailed that hundreds have already been deported, highlighting the scale of the operation. She described it as a fulfillment of promises made during the campaign.
This action comes after President Trump declared a national emergency at the southern border upon taking office. His 2024 campaign platform included a promise of mass deportations.
Meanwhile, India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has reiterated its commitment to repatriating Indian nationals residing in the US or elsewhere without proper documentation. MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal stated that India opposes illegal immigration due to its links to organized crime and will facilitate the return of any Indian citizen found to be overstaying their visa or living without proper documentation.
The increased scrutiny of immigration policies has raised concerns within the Indian American community, despite President Trump’s previous support for skilled immigrants through programs like the H-1B visa. The situation of undocumented Indians remains a significant issue.
