**Chennai, January 25, 2025** – Chennai traffic police have announced significant traffic diversions around the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chepauk for Saturday’s India-England T20 International cricket match. The diversions will be in effect from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Key changes include restricting entry to Canal Road (Victoria Hostel Road) to Bharathi Salai only, and making Bell’s Road one-way (entry permitted from Bharathi Salai). Vehicles approaching from Ratna Cafe towards Kamarajar Salai will be diverted at Bell’s Road X Wallajah Salai Junction, and access from Bell’s Road towards the Kannagi statue will be prohibited. After 10 p.m., traffic from Napier Bridge to Kannagi Statue will be closed due to Republic Day preparations.
Vehicles without parking passes entering from Anna Salai will be directed to designated parking areas including Kalaivanar Arangam, Omandurar Medical College Ground, MRTS Chepauk premises, PWD Ground, Chepauk, and Swami Sivanandham Salai. Motorists are urged to plan their journeys accordingly and anticipate delays.
