According to Resident Suburban Collector Satish Bagal, the error occurred in 2019 when Khan and his wife, Gauri Khan, upgraded the lease of the heritage property. While the exact initial premium paid remains unconfirmed by officials, it was reported to be over Rs 25 crore.
