**Chennai, January 25, 2025** – Residents of seven Chennai zones and parts of Avadi will experience a disruption in their piped drinking water supply on January 28th, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The shutdown, announced by Chennai Metrowater, is necessary to repair electromagnetic flow meters in the pipeline supplying water from the Puzhal water treatment plant (capacity: 300 million liters per day).
Affected areas include Anna Nagar, Tiruvottiyur, Ambattur, Manali, Madhavaram, Tondiarpet, Thiru.Vi.Ka. Nagar zones, and Nagammai Nagar in Avadi. Numerous neighborhoods within these zones will be impacted, including Anna Nagar, Mogappair, Korattur, and others.
Metrowater advises residents to store sufficient water and utilize the online tanker water booking system if needed.
