**NEW DELHI** – The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced a return to the pre-COVID-19 format for the 2025 National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-Undergraduate (NEET-UG). The exam will be a single-day, pen-and-paper test lasting 180 minutes (3 hours), eliminating the optional Section B and extra time provisions implemented during the pandemic.
The revised format features 180 compulsory questions: 45 each in Physics and Chemistry, and 90 in Biology. The NTA stated that this change reverts the exam to its pre-pandemic structure, removing all optional questions. Aspirants are advised to prepare accordingly for the exam, which will be held in a single shift.
