**Meerut, Uttar Pradesh –** A man wanted for the brutal murder of a family of five in Meerut was killed in a police encounter Saturday. Naeem, also known as Jameel, had a ₹50,000 bounty on his head for the killings of his stepbrother, stepbrother’s wife, and their three children in the Lisari Gate area.
Police say the encounter occurred in the Chowki Summer Garden area of Madina Colony Phase-2. Naeem allegedly opened fire on officers, prompting retaliatory fire that resulted in his injuries. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The accused was also a suspect in murder cases in Delhi and Maharashtra and had been living under an assumed name in the Lisari Gate area. Police believe he committed the crime with an accomplice, who remains at large and also has a ₹50,000 bounty. Initial investigations suggest the killings stemmed from a family rivalry, with the victims suffering blunt force trauma to the head. The accomplice is currently being sought by police.
