NEW DELHI, January 25, 2025 – The President of India has approved the conferment of 139 Padma Awards for the year 2025, the highest civilian honor in the country. The awards, presented in three categories – Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Shri – recognize exceptional and distinguished service across various fields.
This year’s recipients include seven Padma Vibhushan, nineteen Padma Bhushan, and 113 Padma Shri awardees. Notably, 23 of the awardees are women, and the list includes ten foreigners, NRIs, PIOs, or OCIs, and 13 posthumous awards. The recipients represent diverse fields, including medicine, public affairs, art, literature, education, sports, trade and industry, science, and social work.
