Sat Jan 25 20:44:08 IST 2025: ## Udupi Hosts Stunning Republic Day Flower Show Showcasing Karnataka’s Five Guarantees

**Udupi, Karnataka –** A vibrant three-day Republic Day fruit and flower show opened Saturday in Udupi, Karnataka, showcasing the state government’s “five guarantees” through intricate flower art. The exhibition, organized by the district administration, Zilla Panchayat, and Horticulture Department, is held at the Doddanagudde flower auction centre.

Deputy Commissioner K. Vidyakumari inaugurated the event, praising the artisans’ work in depicting the government’s initiatives – Anna Bhagya (food security), Gruha Jyothi (free electricity), Gruha Lakshmi (financial assistance to women), Yuva Nidhi (youth development), and Shakthi (free bus travel for women) – using floral arrangements. These included a Karnataka map crafted from red roses, a mango sculpted from flowers, and representations of the schemes using symbolic imagery like currency notes and a KSRTC bus model.

Other highlights include a selfie zone, displays of locally grown fruits and vegetables, and approximately 1.27 lakh colorful flower plants. The show is open to the public until Monday. Superintendent of Police K. Arun and Zilla Panchayat CEO Prateek Bayal also attended the inauguration.
