**Dindigul, January 24, 2025** – Farmers in Dindigul district voiced a range of concerns at a grievance redressal meeting held at the Collectorate on Friday. The meeting, presided over by Collector M.N. Poongodi, saw farmers raise issues including sewage discharge, inadequate infrastructure, and crop damage.

Farmers from Avilipatti village reported sewage contaminating streets and banana plantations, while those from Akkaraipatti requested improved roads and street lighting. The dilapidated condition of the Landhakottai cooperative building was also highlighted, with farmers urging renovation. Significant crop damage caused by wild animals prompted calls for compensation. Additional concerns included encroachments in Kodaikanal and groundwater pollution in Viralipatti.

Collector Poongodi assured the farmers that all issues would be investigated and addressed promptly. The meeting concluded with a promise of immediate action to prevent further sewage discharge in Avilipatti and further investigation into all other complaints.
