Sat Jan 25 17:29:32 IST 2025: ## Erode Election Officials Seize Over ₹25 Lakh in Unaccounted Cash
**ERODE, January 25, 2025** – Election officials in Erode have seized ₹25,95,060 in unaccounted cash during the ongoing election process, according to a report released Saturday. However, ₹12,93,060 of this amount has since been released after individuals presented valid documentation. A total of 32 cases of violations of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) have also been registered by the police.
District Election Officer and Collector Raja Gopal Sunkara urged citizens to carry proper documentation when transporting cash exceeding ₹50,000. The crackdown comes as authorities work to ensure fair and transparent elections.
