**Madurai, January 25, 2025** – Hundreds participated in a walkathon organized by the Dhan Foundation in Madurai on Saturday, celebrating the theme of “Development Partnership.” The event aimed to recognize collaborative efforts across India, highlighting the importance of partnerships between various stakeholders in fostering goodwill and achieving development goals.
The walkathon, flagged off by District Revenue Officer R. Sakthivel, began at Teppakulam and concluded at the Gandhi Memorial Museum. Attendees included representatives from banking and insurance sectors, Rotary clubs, NGOs, CSR initiatives, government bodies, self-help groups, farmers’ associations, and students.
M.P. Vasimalai, Executive Director of the Dhan Foundation, stressed the significance of community involvement in robust development partnerships. Leaders from women’s self-help groups and farmers’ associations presented action plans focused on collaborative development. The event also featured essay and drawing competitions on the theme of development partnerships. Padma Shri P. Chinnapillai, advisory leader of the Kalanjiam Movement, also attended.
