**New Delhi, January 25, 2025** – The Delhi Chief Electoral Office launched a “vote from home” initiative on January 23rd, allowing senior citizens aged 85 and above, and individuals with disabilities, to cast their ballots in the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections. This service, first introduced during the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, provides convenient voting for those with mobility challenges.

A total of 7,449 voters – 6,399 senior citizens and 1,050 people with disabilities – have registered for the home voting facility. On Thursday, the initiative was implemented in three constituencies: Tilak Nagar, Nangloi Jat, and Janakpuri.

One participant, 93-year-old K.K. Khanna from Janakpuri, expressed his satisfaction with the service, stating, “I voted from home today. It felt like the EC was at the doorstep to ensure my participation.”

The “vote from home” facility will remain available until February 4th. The initiative is part of the Election Commission of India’s efforts to ensure inclusivity and accessibility in the electoral process.
