**Hyderabad, January 26, 2025** – The Telangana government launched four ambitious welfare schemes on Republic Day, aimed at improving the lives of farmers, landless agricultural workers, and the needy. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy inaugurated the programs in Chandravancha village, Kosgi mandal.
The schemes include Rythu Bharosa (financial assistance for farmers, providing ₹12,000 per acre), Indiramma Atmeeya Bharosa (support for landless agricultural workers), Indiramma Indlu (housing for the needy), and a new ration card distribution initiative.
Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu stated that the rollout will initially cover one village per mandal, expanding to all villages by March. The initiative will provide free, high-quality rice to all Below Poverty Line (BPL) households after the completion of ration card distribution. This saturation approach will encompass all applicants registered through various government platforms.
Irrigation Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy described the food security program as the largest in independent India, aiming to uplift over 70-73% of the state’s population. Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageshwara Rao highlighted the ₹40,000 crore investment in farmers over the past year, a figure he claimed was unparalleled by other states.
The ministers emphasized the Congress government’s commitment to alleviating poverty and improving the living standards of Telangana’s citizens. The launch signifies a major policy shift, according to the government, correcting what it termed years of neglect under the previous administration.
