**Jammu, January 25, 2025** – Indian Army troops engaged in an exchange of fire with suspected terrorists in Kathua district, Jammu and Kashmir, in the early hours of Saturday. The encounter, which lasted approximately 30 minutes, began after an army sentry post detected suspicious activity near a temporary camp in Batod panchayat around 1:20 AM.
While no casualties were reported on either side, the three suspected terrorists escaped into a nearby forest following the firefight. A large-scale cordon-and-search operation is currently underway to locate and apprehend the fleeing militants. Further details are awaited.
