**Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh, January 25, 2025** – A 45-year-old NREGA field assistant, Bandari Kuruva Eranna, was murdered on Friday in Arikera village, Aluru mandal, Kurnool district. Police report that unidentified assailants attacked Eranna with hunting knives as he rode his motorcycle home from work.
Eranna, a contract employee for the past five years, was reportedly under pressure from local politicians to resign from his post. Police sources indicate he had agreed to resign, paving the way for a supporter of the politicians to take his place.
