HYDERABAD, INDIA – Two films have recently joined the ranks of movies available on OTT platforms. Jharkhand beauty Shweta Basu Prasad’s bold film, “Oops Ab Kya,” is now streaming, and the Telugu version of “The Sabarmati Report,” a film based on real events surrounding the Godhra train burning, is also now available.
“The Sabarmati Report,” previously only available in Hindi, stars Vikrant Massey, Rithvik Dhanjani, and Raashii Khanna. Produced by Ekta Kapoor and directed by Dheeraj Sharma, the film premiered in November 2024 and has garnered attention, including praise from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The film depicts the events surrounding the Godhra train burning and the subsequent Gujarat riots of 2002. Several state governments have offered tax exemptions for its screenings.
The unexpected release of the Telugu version of “The Sabarmati Report” on Zee5 has created buzz, without prior announcement. The film is also available in Tamil.
