**LOS ANGELES** – After delays caused by the recent Los Angeles wildfires, the nominees for the 97th Academy Awards will be announced on Thursday, January 23rd, at 5:30 a.m. PT. Actors Rachel Sennott and Bowen Yang will reveal the nominees in a live presentation streamed across multiple platforms, including Oscar.com, Oscars.org, and the Academy’s social media channels. The announcement will also air on ABC’s “Good Morning America” and stream on ABC News Live, Disney+, and Hulu.
Variety’s senior awards editor, Clayton Davis, offered predictions for the Best Picture nominees, including “Anora,” “The Brutalist,” “A Complete Unknown,” “Conclave,” “Dune: Part Two,” “Emilia Pérez,” “A Real Pain,” “Sing Sing,” “The Substance,” and “Wicked.” His predictions reflect the buzz generated by these films, with several already garnering accolades at the Golden Globes and BAFTAs. “The Brutalist” and “Emilia Pérez” notably won Golden Globe awards in their respective categories. “Conclave” leads with 12 BAFTA nominations.
Davis also predicted nominees for Best Actor and Best Actress, highlighting contenders like Adrien Brody (“The Brutalist”), Timothée Chalamet (“A Complete Unknown”), and Fernanda Torres (“I’m Still Here”), among others. Several of these actors have already secured Golden Globe wins.
In other Oscar news, comedian Conan O’Brien will host the 97th Academy Awards ceremony, set for March 2nd at the Dolby Theatre and broadcast live on ABC. For the first time, the Oscars will also be available to stream live on Hulu.
