Fri Jan 24 12:20:00 UTC 2025: **Spirit Airlines Cracks Down on Passenger Attire, Implementing Stricter Dress Code**

MIAMI, FL – Spirit Airlines has announced a stricter dress code policy, effective January 22nd, that allows for passenger removal based on clothing or offensive tattoos. The updated policy specifically cites inadequately clothed passengers – those wearing see-through garments exposing private parts – as being subject to denied boarding. Barefoot passengers will also be refused travel. While the policy addresses offensive tattoos, this is not a common basis for removal.

The airline’s decision follows several recent incidents. In October 2024, two women were removed for wearing crop tops, and last week a Texas man was removed for wearing a deemed offensive hoodie, despite ultimately removing the garment.

Spirit Airlines has yet to comment publicly on the updated policy. This move comes amidst recent controversies surrounding airline dress codes and passenger removals.
