SANTA BARBARA, CA – Kevin Costner’s ambitious western epic, *Horizon: An American Saga — Chapter 2*, will receive its U.S. premiere at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival (SBIFF) on February 7th. The film, following the successful Venice Film Festival premiere last fall, will screen alongside Chapter 1. Both films will be shown at the Arlington Theatre, with Chapter 2’s screening followed by a Q&A with Costner himself, moderated by SBIFF executive director Roger Durling.
The festival will also feature *Beyond the Horizon*, a behind-the-scenes documentary about the making of the films, on February 13th, followed by a Q&A with Costner and director Mark Gillard.
The highly anticipated sequel comes after the first installment’s box office performance fell short of expectations, grossing $38 million worldwide against a reported combined budget of $100 million for both films (with Costner personally fronting $38 million). The success of Chapter 2 will likely determine the future of the planned third and fourth installments in the series. Costner, a Santa Barbara resident, co-wrote, directed, produced, and stars in the *Horizon* saga.
