Thu Jan 23 18:30:00 UTC 2025: ## 17-Year-Old Stabbed in Rome; Two Suspects Identified

**Rome, Italy** – A 17-year-old Filipino student is hospitalized in critical but stable condition after being stabbed in the neck near Piazza Testaccio in Rome. Police have identified two suspects, one reportedly Egyptian and the other Tunisian, who allegedly attacked the victim following a dispute outside a school.

The incident, which occurred around 2:30 PM on January 23rd, involved a larger altercation possibly between two groups of youths. Witnesses suggest the stabbing may have been in retaliation for a prior incident at school, possibly involving a shove given by the victim to another student. However, investigators are exploring various motives, including the possibility of a gang-related fight.

Five to six additional individuals fled the scene after the stabbing. Police are utilizing security camera footage to identify and apprehend them. The weapon used in the attack has yet to be recovered. The victim, initially aided by bystanders, is currently under observation in intensive care at the San Camillo Hospital. Once his condition allows, he will be interviewed by police. The investigation continues.
