Thu Jan 23 20:00:00 UTC 2025: **Lions Set to Hire Kacy Rodgers as Defensive Line Coach**
Detroit, MI – The Detroit Lions are bolstering their coaching staff with the expected hiring of Kacy Rodgers as their new defensive line coach, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports. This comes after the team parted ways with several assistant coaches in recent days and following the departure of Terrell Williams, who accepted the defensive coordinator position with the New England Patriots.
Rodgers, who spent the last five seasons as the defensive line coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers – adding the title of defensive run game coordinator in 2022 – is now free to join the Lions after his contract with Tampa Bay expired. The move represents a lateral shift for Rodgers.
The Lions still have vacancies for both their offensive and defensive coordinator positions. Head Coach Dan Campbell has indicated he will consider both internal and external candidates to fill these key roles.
