**VISAKHAPATNAM, January 24, 2025** – East Coast Railway (ECoR) has announced the addition of a halt at Kottavalasa for Maha Kumbh Mela special trains originating from Visakhapatnam. This decision aims to improve accessibility for pilgrims from North Andhra traveling to the religious festival.

Two special trains will be affected by this change. The Visakhapatnam-Gorakhpur Maha Kumbh Special Express (08562) will now stop at Kottavalasa on its journey from Visakhapatnam on February 16th and the return train (08561) will stop there on February 19th. Similar halts have also been added to the Visakhapatnam-Deen Dayal Upadhyay Special Express (08530 and 08529) on specific dates in January and February. The exact timings of the stops at Kottavalasa have been announced by the ECoR.
