Fri Jan 24 09:07:09 UTC 2025: ## India Eyeing Another Win Against England in Chennai T20I

**Chennai, India:** India will look to continue their winning streak against England in the second T20 International in Chennai on Saturday. The team secured a comfortable seven-wicket victory in the first match in Kolkata on Wednesday, taking a 1-0 lead in the five-match series.

The fitness of fast bowler Mohammed Shami remains a concern. While the team hopes to include him, his participation depends entirely on his recovery. His absence in the first match wasn’t felt, however, as Arshdeep Singh and spinner Varun Chakravarthy delivered stellar performances.

While the Eden Gardens pitch offered assistance to both pace and spin bowlers, the Chepauk Stadium is expected to be more spin-friendly. This bodes well for the Indian spinners, with Varun, vice-captain Axar Patel, and Ravi Bishnoi likely to retain their places in the playing XI. England will counter with experienced spinners Adil Rashid and Liam Livingstone.

India’s openers, Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson, will be eager to replicate their strong start from the first match. While Samson, who has scored three centuries in his last six matches, had a relatively short innings, Abhishek’s explosive 79 off 34 balls set the tone. Consistency will be key for this opening pair as they aim to solidify their claims for a spot in the T20 World Cup squad next year.
