**Seoul, South Korea** – Samsung’s highly anticipated Galaxy S25 Ultra boasts a 16GB RAM option, but only for consumers in select Asian markets. The higher RAM configuration is available exclusively in South Korea, China, and Taiwan, leaving customers in other regions with the 12GB option.
While Samsung hasn’t publicly explained this limited availability, speculation suggests the company’s market research indicates a stronger emphasis on RAM specifications among consumers in these regions. In China and Taiwan, the 1TB storage model is paired with 16GB RAM, while South Korea offers a choice between 12GB and 16GB options.
This decision contrasts with Samsung’s competitors, who have adopted 16GB RAM as standard in their flagship phones. However, despite lagging in certain specifications like RAM and charging speeds, Samsung maintains a significant global market share, raising questions about the overall importance of such features in consumer purchasing decisions. For those outside of Korea, China, and Taiwan, the Galaxy S25 Ultra will only come with 12GB of RAM.
