**Hyderabad, January 18, 2025** – The Telangana government is implementing a major overhaul of its village-level revenue administration. A special examination will be conducted to select Village Level Officers (VLOs), replacing the previously abolished system. Around 10,000 former Village Revenue Officers (VROs) and Village Revenue Assistants (VRAs) who were transferred to other departments have expressed interest in participating in this recruitment drive.

Addressing a shortage of surveyors, the minister also ordered the creation of a transparent plan for the recruitment of an additional 600 surveyors, increasing the current workforce of 450.
The announcement comes alongside a review of the Indiramma Illu weaker section housing program, scheduled to launch on January 26th. Minister Reddy emphasized the government’s commitment to providing housing for all eligible poor, stating that financial assistance will be extended to landless individuals in the future. He directed officials to display beneficiary lists in gram sabhas (village councils) starting January 21st.
Addressing a shortage of engineers within the Housing department, Minister Reddy suggested exploring the possibility of utilizing engineers from other departments to ensure the effective implementation of the Indiramma Illu scheme.
