Fri Jan 24 13:03:06 UTC 2025: ## DYFI Demands Inclusion of All Qualified Candidates in Police Constable Physical Tests
**Vijayawada, January 24, 2025** – The Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) State committee has urged the Andhra Pradesh government to allow all candidates who cleared the preliminary examination for the police constable recruitment to participate in the physical tests. In a statement released today, DYFI State president Y. Ramu and secretary G. Ramanna criticized the government for rejecting candidates based on age restrictions, calling it unjustified.
The recruitment process, initially announced in November 2022 for 6,100 constable posts, has been repeatedly delayed due to elections and legal challenges. While 95,208 out of 459,182 candidates passed the preliminary exam in January 2023, many are now being barred from the physical tests due to age restrictions.
The DYFI leaders argued that these candidates should not be penalized for government delays. They further demanded compensation for the families of three candidates who died during the physical tests’ 1,600-meter run. The federation is calling for the immediate inclusion of all qualified candidates in the upcoming physical tests.
